Christina Conrad, LPC

This practice has the purpose of creating space for mindfulness in the healing process - encouraging and seeking out hope in the midst of overwhelming struggle and peace in the midst of pain. I acknowledge the innate wisdom of the body, mind and spirit to pursue whole health and the joy, peace and calm for which we all yearn.

Oklahoma Community of Somatic Therapists Meeting

The intention of OCST is to create community among clinicians who are employing or in the process of learning about somatic-based approaches to counseling. Through this community, we will challenge ourselves professionally and cultivate increased depths of mindfulness and somatic wellness both personally and professionally. The underlying goal of this work and time together is to create a strong community of clinicians who would like to grow their skills in somatic interventions by connecting with others in the process. In building this community, the long-term hope is to be able to bring in quality and cutting edge training options for Oklahoma Therapists.

The monthly groups will consist of identifying and pursuing personal goals of somatic wellness, case consultation and, at times, opportunities for CEUs.

These sessions will impact your life personally and professionally. They will go beyond other training to build a connection with others to increase your own support, and a gentle accountability and assistance in deepening your own wellness goals, and this process of accountability will also impact your work with your clients. Each session will cost $35, which includes a catered dinner, specific to your dietary needs, and any ongoing training materials. Your first visit is always free so you can get more insight into the process that will occur. Let’s build community, increase our wellness and deepen our impact as clinicians. The Physiology of Trauma: Orienting to Hope

Trauma impacts our hearts and minds, as well as our body. In this training,  you will learn how trauma impacts the brain and the central nervous system and how it shows up for us in our daily lives. We all have holding patterns that we began in our childhood as we learned to cope in our world. In learning how to recognize these, we see how personal and generational trauma impact pain patterns, attachment/relationship struggles, addiction issues, mental health diagnosis and many other areas. Learn how the Vagus Nerve is being used to heal in cutting-edge science, explore somatic based, holistic approaches and learn how to use this information to dramatically increase resilience and emotional regulation in your clients and yourself.

Return to Center: A Women's Retreat

This is an exciting new event that will continue to develop over the upcoming weeks. This is an in-town retreat with the purpose of increasing intention, awareness and health. Through the rush of our days, the stress of our work and the many weights and responsibilities we carry, we so easily become disconnected with the core of our hearts. We lose sight of our core values, of what inspires us, what strengthens us, what keeps us moving forward. This weekend will begin with a medicine walk in nature and will continue indoors both Saturday and a few hours on Sunday. Laura Campbell, SEP, will be joining us from Loveland, Colorado to lead the medicine walk and work together with me in this retreat that will incorporate principles of Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness and intention. Lunch on Saturday will be provided, along with healthy and refreshing snacks that will support the work of the retreat. More information and details will be provided soon.

When: August 1 @ 9:30am-4:30pm

           August 2 @ 8:00am-12:00pm

Costs: $195 (plus $10 for the catered lunch)
